We all look for that 'perfect smile' but very few people are lucky enough to have just that. Dental technology has improved vastly in recent years, meaning that the 'perfect smile' isn't as out of reach as you might think.

Dental veneers will visually improve the appearance of the formation of your teeth, to allow a bright, even smile. The colour of your teeth will be improved and the veneers will cover gaps and any alignment problems, which most of us have. There is very little work required to prepare the original tooth making the procedure as pain free as possible.

Porcelain Veneers

How do you prepare teeth for veneer treatment

In some cases, part of the tooth's shiny outer enamel is removed. This is generally done under a local anaesthetic injection. The amount of enamel removed is minimal, it just needs to match the thickness of the veneer, which will allow your tooth to remain the same size as before.

After preparation, the dentist will take an impression as well as matching the colour of your other teeth using a shade guide. This is passed on to the technician along with any other relevant details.

How are Veneers made?

Porcelain Veneers are thin 'shells' of ceramic, which are produced by our technicians, based on the results of our consultation with you. This will allow you to achieve the shape and size that suits you best.

As an almost pain free procedure, porcelain veneers can entirely transform your smile. Porcelain veneers are also a good option, if you’re not entirely convinced yet that dental implants are the answer.

How much are veneers?

At St Leonards Dental Practice, every patient is unique and the cost of veneer treatment will depend upon many factors that are impossible to predict without a full examination.

Where dental veneer treatment is appropriate, we will be able to provide you with a full quote and payment plan. You can rest assured that we don't pressure patients into treatments that they cannot afford and will advise you on all of your available options.
